  • STM32H7 / H7R / H7S: The performance benchmark based on Cortex-M7 (up to 600 MHz), offering asymmetric dual-core options (M7+M4) and hardware graphics acceleration, widely used in advanced industrial control, complex HMI, and real-time control systems.
  • STM32H5: Powered by Cortex-M33 (with TrustZone), delivering cost-effective high performance alongside hardware-level security (PSA Certified Level 3).
  • STM32F2 / F4 / F7: Classic Cortex-M4 / M7 high-performance product lines, extensively deployed in audio, camera, and Ethernet applications.

2. Mainstream MCUs

Targeted at general-purpose industrial and consumer electronics, balancing cost and performance.

  • STM32C5 (Latest Mainstream Architecture): Built on the Cortex-M33 core using an advanced 40nm process, delivering significantly faster clock speeds and higher Flash density while maximizing cost efficiency.
  • STM32C0: The ideal 8-bit MCU entry-level replacement based on Cortex-M0+, designed for maximum system BOM cost optimization.
  • STM32G0: Modern general-purpose MCU with high pin utilization and enhanced noise immunity.
  • STM32F0 / F1: Classic entry-level and legacy series (early Cortex-M0 / M3).

3. Mixed-Signal MCUs

Engineered for applications requiring extensive analog peripheral integration.

  • STM32G4: Powered by Cortex-M4 (with FPU/DSP), featuring math accelerators (CORDIC / FMAC), high-resolution timers (HRTIM), high-speed ADCs/DACs, and comparators—making it the top choice for digital power supplies, solar inverters, and advanced motor control.
  • STM32F3: First-generation mixed-signal MCU suitable for standard analog/digital control tasks.

4. Ultra-Low-Power MCUs

Tailored for battery-operated devices, wearable medical gear, and energy-sensitive IoT endpoints.

  • STM32U5 / U3 / U0: Next-generation low-power flagship portfolio.
    • STM32U5: Flagship low-power MCU featuring Cortex-M33 + TrustZone, introducing LPBAM (Low-Power Background Autonomous Mode).
    • STM32U3 / U0: Entry-level ultra-low-power Cortex-M33 / M0+ series.
  • STM32L0 / L1 / L4 / L4+ / L5: Established low-power series spanning Cortex-M0+ through M33.

5. Wireless MCUs

Integrated RF transceivers on-chip to simplify wireless hardware design.

  • STM32WBA / WB0 / WB: 2.4 GHz wireless MCUs based on Cortex-M33 / M4, natively supporting Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 5.3/5.4), Zigbee, Thread, and Matter protocols.
  • STM32WL / WL3: The world's first system-on-chip integrating Sub-GHz radio (supporting LoRa, Sigfox, GFSK, etc.) with a general-purpose MCU, designed for long-range IoT and smart metering.

6. Arm Cortex Microprocessors (MPUs)

Bridging traditional MCUs and Linux-capable systems with heterogenous multi-core MPU architectures.

  • STM32MP2 (Next-Gen MPU): Powered by 64-bit dual-core Arm Cortex-A35 (up to 1.5 GHz) + single Cortex-M33 core, featuring a 3D GPU, ISP image processing, and TSN Gigabit Ethernet for Industry 4.0 and advanced edge gateways.
  • STM32MP1: Classic Cortex-A7 + Cortex-M4 heterogenous MPU, widely used in embedded Linux industrial control panels.
